Establishing Viet Nam Biogas Association

On April 9th, in Hanoi, Vietnam Biogas Association was officially founded. The establishment– technical activity, contributing to the development of livestock husbandry, reducing gas emissions, improving the efficiency of current and future biogas projects, raising income for households and businesses as well as protecting the environment.

On April 9th, in Hanoi, Vietnam Biogas Association was officially founded. The establishment– technical activity, contributing to the development of livestock husbandry, reducing gas emissions, improving the efficiency of current and future biogas projects, raising income for households and businesses as well as protecting the environment.


For the period from 2011 to 2013, the Association intends to run the following activities: Diversification of Biogas technology towards a modernized, industrialized direction, consistent with the national energy strategies, and green, environment-friendly technologies.

Vietnam Biogas Association will strive to increase the scope of biogas projects in order to reduce gas emissions in the whole country, gradually increase the proportion of farmers and businesses applying biogas technology – a safe, efficient and sustainable technology which will contribute to building a modern countryside.


Mr. Hoang Kim Giao, director of the Department of Vietnam Animal Husbandry said: Before, biogas activities in various fields have been sporadic and periodic in nature; each ministry or industry runs projects independently, and each project phase of each program is discontinuous.


The establishment of Vietnam Biogas Association is a major boost for biogas sector. It will help consolidating independent programs and biogas projects in different areas of ministries and sectors from central to local levels into a continuously active industry.


Vietnam Biogas Association establishment will satisfy the long awaited expectation of individuals and groups working in the field of bio-gas for many years.
