In recent times, many enterprises in Quang Ngai have effortfully improved equipment and technologies to improve product quality and save energy, especially electricity.
A pioneer in the application of modern technologies and equipment in Quang Ngai is Vietnam Soy Milk factory - Vinasoy under Quang Ngai Sugar JSC. In 2009, the factory invested tens of billions of dong in installing a number of devices, notably a cold compressor with the price of almost VND 10 billion. After installation, this device could help the plant save nearly VND 600 million per year on electric bills while improving product quality.
For brick manufacturing plants which always have high power consumption, the solution is to reschedule the production to avoid peak hours. In addition, some businesses have focused on replacing power gobbling devices. Mr. Tran Ngoc Vong, deputy director of Dung Quat tunnel brick plant, said: "Ineffective equipment or engines with abundant capacity have all been rejected. For example, 32 kW furnace fans have been replaced with 22 kW fans".
Garment enterprises in Dung Quat economic zone and industrial zones of Quang Ngai have also used natural light instead of light bulbs or mounted lights close to sewing machines, which ensures illumination while saving power.
Mr. Huynh Tan Truong, Deputy Director of Phuoc An Inox Co., Ltd, said that the policy of the business is to lower costs while improving the lives of workers. Therefore, the company has always been interested in changing equipment and production technology to improve productivity and reduce power consumption. This is also the solution to optimize products to dominate the domestic market.
To create favorable conditions for enterprises in the province, in addition to supporting research and application of projects on energy saving, Quang Ngai province has also had mechanisms to support 30% of funds for businesses to replace devices and technologies. Mr. Tran Chan Diep, Director of the Science - Technology Department of Quang Ngai, said: "We concentrate technological innovation on our devices towards two directions: one is to save energy, fuel and materials; the other is to create new models to satisfy consumers’ demand for products with higher quality".
