Thai Lab for energy output testing designated

On 12 October, 2012, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade signed the Decision number 6061/QD-BCT on the designation of a laboratory which will be employed to test energy output for equipment engaging in the Energy labeling program.
On 12 October, 2012, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade signed the Decision number 6061/QD-BCT on the designation of a laboratory which will be employed to test energy output for equipment engaging in the Energy labeling program. The designated lab, based in Thailand, is the first overseas lab of this function allowed to take part in MOIT’s Energy labeling program.
According to the decision, Thailand’s Intertek Testing Services Limited Company is allowed to implement energy output testing activities under the MOIT’s program. Equipment to be tested includes civil air conditioners, fridges and washing machines.
The Decision states that for its involvement in the Labeling program, Intertek Testing Services Limited company must conform with requirements of Circular number 07/2012/TT-BCT, which regulates the quality of testing equipment, infrastructure and capacity.
The company must, on a yearly basis, send report on its activities and certificates of equipment to the Energy Department, MOIT for the purpose of controlling the testing services.
The Decision is effective for 36 months from the date of issuance.
