VN officials, UK lecturers talk clean energy

Vietnamese officials from the Central and Central Highlands and lecturers from the UK’s leading research universities discussed opportunities to develop and apply new clean energy resources at a conference in Da Nang city on Sept. 10.
Vietnamese officials from the Central and Central Highlands and lecturers from the UK’s leading research universities discussed opportunities to develop and apply new clean energy resources at a conference in Da Nang city on Sept. 10.
Participants to the event, which was hosted by Da Nang Technology University and the British Council, touched on the use of solar, wind and tide-generated energy in Vietnam and the UK alike as well as research to turn wastes into environmentally friendly products.
Vietnam’s industrial development strategy for the 2011-2020 period with a vision to 2030 aims to promote the efficient use of energy, renewable energy and energy-saving technologies and reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the development of sustainable organic agriculture.
The same day, an exhibition on clean energy also took place in the city.
