Spending several months and with the guidance of teachers, students from three Vietnamese famous universities: Ho Chi Minh University of Technology, Hanoi University of Technology and Hanoi University of Communications and Transport, have completed the three self-made cars to join the Shell Eco-marathon Asia Racing organized in Malaysia from 6-9th July, 2011. According to Nguyen Ngoc Dzung, researcher and lecturer of the Faculty of Automobile and Power Engineering of HCMUT, these cars could achieve the saving consumption of a liter of gasoline for 320km, depending on certain conditions such as: road racing, speed winds, driving skills.
Le Thanh, Director General of Vietnam Shell said, the purpose of the racing is to encourage the scientists and engineers to have creative thinking about fuel efficiency and bring their ideas into reality.
