In 2015, Hanoi will continue to raise awareness about energy saving and efficiency through propaganda and communication. At the same time, it will focus on guiding and monitoring central energy-using facilities, creating management systems and complying with the provisions of the Law on energy savings and efficiency.
In the area of transportation, the city will build prioritized transport projects, shorten the distance of transport, encourage the use of environmentally friendly vehicles and biodiesel E5.
Hanoi will focus on solutions for energy-efficient buses
Dr. Dao Hong Thai, director of Hanoi Energy Conservation Center (ECC Hanoi) said that in 2015 Hanoi would strive to reduce from 6-9% of total energy consumption in the city. To achieve this goal, ECC Hanoi will cntinue to focus on advocacy, audits energy support in key areas, focusing on the areas of industrial zones, export processing zones and villages.
In 2014, Hanoi has completed many tasks related to the Target programme such as International Energy Efficiency Entech Expo 2014; supported to enhance efficiency in urban buildings; promoted the use of energy saving equipment; supported to build energy audit model, etc.
Besides, the city developed a trial technical and economic norms in the operation of public transport facilities, built pilot energy consumption standard for buildings, deployed energy saving and efficiency movement in households.
