Northern General Electric Company recently held the launching ceremony of an emulation program “Power Saving Family” in Yen Bai City, 2015. This is the inauguration for the movement "Power Saving Family" in the Northern provinces, and cities.

The program takes place from May to October with the participation of households in the city. To achieve the criteria "Power Saving Family", households need to make a saving of 10% of power consumption compared to the same period of 2014 and sustain the saving level for 6 successive months. The reward for this title is VND 500,000.

 Household owners committed to power saving

For those households that meet the criteria "Power Saving Family", if they use additional products like fluorescent energy saving T5 light, T8 lights, compact fluorescent light, LED, inverter air conditioner and other energy labeled electrical equipment, they will win the title “Typical Power Saving Family”. The encouraging reward for this title is VND 1 million.

It is expected for about 400 awards with a total value of VND 300 million for the typical families in Yen Bai city in 2015.

Shortly after the launching ceremony, Yen Bai Power Company will organize promotional activities for mobilizing households in the economical and efficient use of energy, such as: establishment of a team of communicators who will deliver leaflets, provide advice for measures to save power in households in the area, and they will also organize the "Power Saving Residence Group”.

In 2014, Yen Bai city had more than one thousand households that achieved 10% power savings per month, equivalent to VND 550 million on electricity bill.
