Covering the first months of 2015, the preliminary review shows that Dak Lak province has made a saving of 12.58 million kWh, exceeding 3.18 million kWh compared with EVN-CPC assigned plan. To achieve this result, along with other solutions, Dak Lak Power Corporation in collaboration with the Department of Industry and Trade implements the electricity-saving program. Besides, the company also works with local authorities to obtain the consent and cooperation in the implementation of the general policy.
Dak Lak Power Corporation in cooperation with the Department of Industry and Trade advises the Provincial People's Committee to issue the guidance for enactment of the Law on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy. On that basis, the Provincial People's Committee requested the departments, agencies and organizations in the province and the Committees of districts, towns and cities jointly to perform the economical and efficient use of energy.
In 2015, continuously from March to May 2015, the Company conducted 4 power-saving weeks with phased intervals. In the operation, there were practical communication activities such as demonstrative float, hanging banners, flags and banners in Coffee Festival, parade on the occasion of Earth Hour, leaflets with messages to save electricity. The activities were synchronized, creating practical effects on public awareness of electricity users. For the Earth Hour 2015 only, the province saved over 32,700 kWh.
Besides, the power-saving activities have been deployed in households, schools, workplaces since the previous year while maintaining effective communication.
Now that Dak Lak has been in the rainy season, the problem of over load is no longer tense. However, power saving is regarded as a long-term strategy, to be implemented not only in peak time of the hot season but also in the long run. It is from this perspective, the change of perceptions in using electrical equipment in particular and energy in general will bring out positive performance.
