Phu Yen Achieved 6.3 Million kWh Savings in the First 6 Months

6.3 million kWh of electricity was achieved by Phu Yen Power Company as savings in the first 6 months of 2015, equivalent to approximately 2.09% of power consumption of the time, a decrease by 2.27% compared with the same period last year.

To achieve this target, early in the year, the Company implemented vigorous communication about power saving on mass media; launched the programs and mobilizations of the company's employees to participate actively; calling for their families, friends, neighbors to use electricity with safety, savings and efficiency in response to Earth Hour, and conducted 5 rounds of "Week of Power Saving Communication" from March 23 to July 26, 2015.

 

Before and after the Lunar New Year, the Company collaborated with Phu Yen Provincial Department of Industry and Trade to deploy the communication on power saving, turning off unused lights in response to Earth Hour 2015 in districts. The saved power during the Earth Hour was 4,384 kWh.

In March 2015, the Company in collaboration with the Phu Yen Confederation of Labor launched a provincial emulation program "Electricity Savings in Office" with the target of 10% of power consumption saved in each agency during April, May and June as  compared with the same period last year.

In parallel, the communication program on power savings in the schools was held by the Company in 18 schools with 5,000 participating students.

Besides, the Company signed cooperation agreement No. 2055/TTHT-PYPC & TDPY dated May 30, 2014 between Phu Yen Power Company and the Provincial Youth Union on "Communication and mobilization in the safe, economical and efficient use of energy phase 2014 - 2015 ". The company has coordinated with the Youth Union’s Program "Lighting the Country Road" in the province's rural areas. From 2014 to date, this program has supported the installation of 486 power saving bulbs in 17 communes, to light 20,8km of rural road and currently in continuous operation.
