Energy efficiency is not just about using less energy, but also about using energy intelligently and optimally. In the context of increasingly scarce energy resources and the threat of climate change, improving energy efficiency has become an urgent task for every country and individual.
The Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Program for the 2019-2030 period (VNEEP3) has been implemented. This is an integral part of the National Sustainable Development Strategy, with the goal of turning Vietnam into an energy efficient country.
Vietnam, with its young population and diverse resources, has a lot of potential in this field, but it is still not fully exploited. To create a breakthrough, we need creative solutions, and this is the ideal time for innovative startup ideas, especially from young, dynamic and pioneering people.
Improving energy efficiency has become an urgent task for every country and individual.
With the desire to accompany and promote innovative ideas from young people in the field of energy efficiency, especially in the industry, transportation and construction sectors in Vietnam. The Acceleration Program for Innovative Startups in the field of Energy Efficiency (AIS4EE) officially opens registration for startups and groups of students. This is the first startup acceleration program organized in Vietnam specifically for the field of energy efficiency.
This startup accelerator program is part of the project “Promoting Innovative Startups in the Energy Efficiency Sector” (AIS4EE) under the Vietnam – EU Sustainable Energy Transition Program (SETP) funded by the European Union for the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The AIS4EE project is co-funded and implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) – an international intergovernmental organization established based on the treaty to promote green growth globally. The startup accelerator program activities are implemented by the investment fund Touchstone Partners.
The program consists of two parts, part one for startups (Startup Track) and part two designed specifically for students aged 15 to 25 (Youth Track) implemented by Dear Our Community as a partner. Youth Track encourages young people to come up with ideas for energy-efficient solutions in industry, construction and transportation, suitable for the context in Vietnam.
Selected teams will participate in a 9-week coaching and training program, led by experts and advisors in the fields of startups and energy.
The total prize value of the program is up to 10.000 USD for student startups. In addition, teams also have the opportunity to participate in domestic and international fundraising events from venture capital funds, including investments from Touchstone Partners and potential investments from partner investment funds. The Energy Efficiency Innovation Accelerator accepts online applications through the portal https://ais4ee.vn. The deadline for submission is before 9:25 a.m. on September 9, 2024 (Vietnam time).
