Air conditioning can consume up to 30% - 60% of total electricity consumption in a household. The following tips will help you choose and use air conditioning properly to save electricity.
Choose an air conditioner with the right capacity:
- Room area is less than 15m2: 9,000 BTU;
- Room area is around 15-25m2: 12,000 BTU;
- Room area is around 25-35m2: 18,000 BTU;
- Room area is around 35-45m2: 24,000 BTU.
Priority to choose:
- Air conditioners with 5-star energy label;
- Air conditioners using R32 gas - a single gas with high cooling efficiency;
- Please pay attention to the CSPF index, the higher the index, the more energy-saving it is;
- Air conditioners using energy-saving technologies (Inverter, Eco, Smart Eye).
Set a reasonable temperature depending on the outdoor temperature as follows:
- Outdoor temperature (degrees C) is respectively: 30, 32, 34, and above 35;
- Indoor temperature (degrees C) is respectively: 26, 27, 28, and 29.
Recommendation:
- Setting the air conditioner temperature to increase by 1 degree Celsius will save 1-3% of electricity;
- Avoid turning the air conditioner on/off continuously;
- Turn on the multi-directional wind adjustment mode (swing), or combine it with a fan;
- Use the power saving mode on the air conditioner such as the smart eye feature, Quiet-when sleeping mode;
- If the air conditioner has a sleep mode, use it;
- Maintain the machine once a year, clean the filter every 3 months;
- Turn off the air conditioner when not in use.
