Coca-Cola Vietnam’s new factory has officially commenced operations, becoming the first food and beverage plant in Vietnam to meet LEED Gold standards.
Coca-Cola Beverage Vietnam Ltd. has inaugurated its factory with a total investment of 136 million USD in the Phu An Thanh Industrial Park (Ben Luc, Tay Ninh). This is also the first food and beverage plant in Vietnam to receive the LEED Gold green building certification, marking a significant milestone in Coca-Cola's investment and sustainable development strategy after 31 years of presence in Vietnam.

Achieving the LEED Gold certification serves as evidence of Coca-Cola Vietnam's commitment to the country’s innovation and sustainable development goals. Through advanced technologies, the factory improves production efficiency with sustainable design solutions including energy-saving lighting systems, optimized cooling systems, and modern heat dissipation technologies. Smart technologies are also integrated to optimize operational performance, such as digital twin warehouse simulation, real-time manufacturing information systems (MIS), and AI-powered safety monitoring (Intenseye).
Additionally, the factory has implemented the seamless "Wall-to-Wall" supply model, a strategic collaboration initiative between Coca-Cola and Baosteel for can packaging supply. This initiative not only optimizes logistics operations but also conserves energy used during transportation.

The factory is designed to use renewable energy, helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Specifically, a 6MW rooftop solar power system has been installed to provide a clean and stable power source, while a 10-ton biomass boiler replaces traditional diesel, significantly reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
To manage water resources effectively, the factory has implemented a system to recover and reuse up to 89% of the water used in production. The recovered water is treated to meet production quality standards, helping reduce overall water consumption.
Prior to Coca-Cola, several other foreign companies also built new factories to green standards. In early April, Denmark’s LEGO Group inaugurated a USD 1.3 billion factory certified LEED Platinum. Jewelry company Pandora is also constructing a USD 150 million factory meeting LEED Gold standards, which is expected to operate entirely on renewable energy.
