A meeting was held in Hanoi Monday for Vietnamese enterprises and firms from Maryland State, US, to seek trade partnership. The meeting, hosted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, offered an opportunity for local firms to learn about the US technologies and latest applications in the environmental area.

Industry, offered an opportunity for local firms to learn about the US technologies
and latest applications in the environmental area.
Maryland is one of the
states with a large community of overseas Vietnamese in the US. Located
near the capital city of Washington,
the state has much strength, particularly in green energy, technological
transfer, tourism human resource training, investment and trade activities.
In 2008, Maryland exported
more than US$22 million worth in goods and services to Vietnam and
imported over $65 million from the country.
Speaking at the meeting, Peter Gourlay, President of the
Maryland-Asia Environmental Partnership said Vietnam
has a dynamic economy and with its membership of the World Trade Organization
offers a huge opportunity for enterprises of Vietnam
and the US, especially of Maryland, to boost
investment cooperation.

this time are enterprises in providing environmental advisory and analysis
services, advice and solutions in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), radio
waves and urban development consultancy.
