A campaign for energy efficiency has been
started in Ho Chi Minh City
with the target of saving 10% of energy expenses for each household. The
duration for the program is from June 1st to the end of November.
To support the program in achieving the
best results, the Energy Efficiency Centre in Ho Chi Minh city has implemented a series of
training on energy efficiency and distributed related documents to women’s
unions at all levels in order to help households, particularly women to use
electronic devices at home most economically and efficiently. The Centre will
also strengthen its supervision on the execution of the program in districts.
It is estimated that household electrical consumption
in Vietnam
accounts for 40% of power consumption of the entire city; and the sum of
electricity bills that households in the City have to pay is VND5,200 billion
annually. Thus if each household cut down 10% of its electricity consumption,
the amount of power saved will be great.
To this moment, there have been over
102,600 households registered for the program in Ho Chi Minh City.
