Hyundai will have a fuel cell electric vehicle on the market by 2012, according to a report by All Cars Electric.com. That should really help Hyundai hit its fleet goal of 50 mpg by 2025.
Viknesh Vijayenthiran writes in his post, “According to a new report, the production version of the [concept] i-Blue [first introduced in 2007] will go on sale in 2012. Being a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, the production i-Blue will almost certainly be sold in limited numbers. In fact, global volumes are expected to be limited to just 500 to 1,000 units for the first two years, though this number could be pushed as high as 10,000 units by as early as 2015.”
Vijayenthiran says Hyundai is yet to reveal what segment its
new hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle will compete in. If it’s based on the
i-Blue concept, my guess would have to be it’s going to be similar to the Hyundai
