On October 18th, Phu Tho Department of Investment and Planning anounced that provincial People's Committee of Phu Tho granted the certificate of investment for the Construction project of Biomass bio-power plant at Rung Xanh area, Phong Chau town, Phu Ninh district. The unit implementing this project is Vietnam Hi-tech Bio-renewable Energy Joint Stock Company.
Biomass bio-power plant has the capacity of 40MW, the power output is expected to be 331.5 million kWh per year with advanced technologies of G8 countries. This project aims to produce electricity with renewable energy sources from straw, rice stubble, corn, cassava, bean, peanut, firewood... to supply power as well as reducing environmental pollution. The total investment in this plant is VND 1,160 billion.
According to Mr Ho Dai Dung, Deputy Director of Phu Tho Department of Investment and Planning, the plant will be put into operation in 2013 to create jobs for nearly 3,500 local employees. In addition, the plant will also help farmers consume agricultural organic waste and garbage.
