The national energy development strategy of Vietnam by 2030, with a vision to 2045, aims to achieve an energy saving ratio of approximately 7 - 10% of the total final energy consumption compared to the business-as-usual scenario by 2030, and about 14 - 20% by 2045.
C2.1.13: Capacity Building on energy efficiency policies development, implementation and EE project development for Government agencies
On the morning of February 23, 2024, within the framework of the Vietnam Scaling Up Energy Efficiency (VSUEE) Project, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) in collaboration with the World Bank (WB) organized a seminar "Roundtable on Vietnam’s Energy efficiency: Challenges and opportunities to promote the EE market".
On the afternoon of January 24, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) and the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam organized a Steering Committee Meeting for the Vietnam-Denmark Energy Partnership Program Phase 3 (DEPP3) for the period 2020-2025.
A project to promote energy efficiency among large business enterprises was kick-started by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan had a working session with the European Union delegation to Vietnam and the British Embassy in Hanoi on October 3 to discuss the implementation of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).
In the coming time, it’s needed to develop new tools and methods which help solve practical problems and legislate the guidelines and policies of the Party and State to promote energy efficiency activities. In which, reviewing and amending the Law on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy is urgent.
The Danish Government is committed to provide non-refundable ODA of 60.29 million Krone, equivalent to 8.96 million USD for Vietnam to implement the Project "Danish - Vietnamese Energy Partnership Programme for the period 2020- 2025” (as known as DEPP3).
The enterprise has just signed a cooperation agreement with two Belgian and Danish partners to develop renewable energy projects in Vietnam.
