‘Thermal effect’ of high-neck jumpers and scarves will save electricity during energy crisis, says governor

Innovative Engineering Ventures (IEV) on March 22 said it will enter the renewable energy business through biomass production in Vietnam, as part of its efforts to explore opportunities in the Asia Pacific region.

For the Asia Pacific region, 2011 was a good year for photovoltaic installations and growth, with the region as a whole growing the photovoltaic market by 165% year over year, with an additional 40% expected to be added in 2012.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) said a fund it established to develop large capacity solar projects will increase the renewable energy resource to 3GW by mid-2013 in the Asia and Pacific region. Haruhiko Kuroda, president of ADB, said governments in Asia and the Pacific should invest in solar energy to help ensure their growth is environmentally sustainable.
