To ‘green’ schools and increase student awareness of energy savings and renewable energy, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has implemented green school model at Luong The Vinh primary school. 

This is the first green school model in Vietnam, as well as models of education and implementation of energy savings for school system in the city.

Students excited about renewable energy model

Accordingly, Luong The Vinh Primary School applied technologies such as lighting systems with LED standards and energy saving; solar battery connecting with 2kW grid for some devices such as fans, refrigerators, televisions, air conditioners; water heaters using solar energy, water purification reusing rain water into drinking water to supply clean drinking water for the school.

Green Primary School Model is expected to raise awareness for staff, teachers and students of the school to save energy more efficiently.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee is also considering and will approve the project for expansion in the future. It is expected that in 2015 there will be about 5 primary schools adopting the model of Luong The Vinh primary school.
