On March 22 morning, the General Department of Energy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) organized the launching ceremony for Earth Hour 2015 Campaign in Da Nang.
Among the participants, there are representatives from Danang People's Committee, the departments, Central Electricity Corporation and approximately 1,000 young people from universities, colleges and volunteer clubs in the province.
The event "Earth Hour" in 2015 with the theme "Save Energy - in response to climate change" will take place simultaneously across the country at 20h30 till 21h30 on March 28.
Mr. Dang Hai Dung, Deputy Director, Department of Science, Technology and Energy Efficiency, General Department of Energy, appreciated this event organized by Da Nang: "Da Nang has always been in the lead to participate in responding to the Earth Hour with its many practical activities such as switching off the advertisement billboards along the Han River and in major streets, turning off the lights in the hotels, restaurants and government agencies located in the city, communicating in public offices and schools over power saving. The Earth Hour 2015 is counting down every day. On behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, I would like to call on organizations, individuals and businesses in Danang to continue their support to Earth Hour 2015".
Immediately after the ceremony, many exciting activities took place, such as: Cycling in response to Earth Hour 2015, Contest in paper fashion design, flash mob dance, exchange with students, mass performance, and mass game 60+. The invited guests and the students signed the commitment to protect the environment.
By the end of the ceremony, thousands of students were dispersed into the streets to paste and erect the posters, flyers and to get the signatures of businesses, households, companies in the city on the informed commitment in response to the Earth Hour Campaign, .
