Promote the Use of Clean Energy

On April 19, 2015, in Hanoi, there was a walking parade and a photo exhibition to respond to the “Passage of Green Energy” organized by Journal of Economics and Forecasting (Ministry of Planning and Investment). The event involved thousands of officers and employees from agencies, organizations, businesses and the youth, the students in the locality to participate.

This is one of the practical activities in response to “the National Green Growth Strategy for the period 2011-2020 with a vision to 2050” and the “National Action Plan for the Green Growth of 2014-2020".

Assoc. Dr. Le Xuan Dinh, Editor in Chief of the Journal of Economics and Forecasting, said that the activities in Passage of Green Energy are to propagate public awareness; to encourage organizations and individuals, businesses, banks, consumers to react for energy saving and efficiency within businesses and organizations as well as in the family.

At the same time, the activities are also directed toward the promotion and introduction of technological developments; prototypes, green energy products from domestic and international markets; conditions for organizations and individuals to look for business partners, to increase investment, to finance the trades, to lease loans; to expand the market for business development, and also for foreign companies to look for distributors in Vietnam in the field of energy.

Besides, the event also facilitates the participating units and organizations in their advertisements of their brand names and images to connect to sustainability, social responsible entity and community service, for joint efforts to build an economy towards sustainable growth.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Thang, the Director of the Office of the Vietnam Gas Corporation shares his view that the issues of power use and energy efficiency are the main concern of many countries in the world, including Vietnam. Facing the downturn of the global economy, there appear the risk of depletion of traditional energy sources and the threat of climate change, therefore heading toward the green economy, green energy economy is a new direction, obviously for the world and Vietnam, too.

In the framework of the program, there were various themes in discussion such as: master planning and policy for development of sustainable energy, development of green energy - renewable energy to share discuss and propose solutions for deployment, expansion of the projects in green energy generation, and energy saving solutions in Vietnam.
