More than 100 families bearing the title "Typical Power Saving Family in 2014" attended the ceremony.

The family emulation program in power saving is meant to raise the public awareness and to create the habit of economical use of electric power for each member of the family, exerting the spreading influences in the community, toward the target of "power savings practiced in every house, power savings practiced by every one". From the practice and actions of each person, each household will contribute to the national target program on economical and efficient use of energy.

The program is applicable to all households in domestic use of electricity in the five administrative wards of Lang Son City. The evaluation criteria "Power Saving Family" are described as follows: voluntary registration into the program with a valid register form of "Power Saving Family" Emulation Program"; monthly saving calculated at 10% of power consumption compared with the power consumption of the 6 months of 2014 respectively. Regarding the "Typical power savings Family" title, it is the title for the households among "Power Saving Family" that achieve the highest results in electricity saving; the households using at least one of three types of energy-saving products, including: lighting in the rooms; air-con with inverter technology; or solar energy-based water heater. The power-saving households are expected to continue the power saving practice, the advocacy among the relatives and their local living and working community for the same practice.

The program is planned to be reviewed for awards in December 2015, with intended 100 prizes for the title of "Power Saving Family"; and  10 prizes for the title of "Typical power savings Family".
