In the first 4 months of this year, Tien Giang electricity sector has saved more than 16 million kWh of electricity, reaching 2.45% of commercial electricity. The well worth saying is that not only businesses but also many people of Tien Giang province are aware of power savings with its practical benefits to the family, and a major contribution into the state's savings and environmental protection.

During the past time, the Program "Village of Culture - Power Saving Living Quarter" is one of the models which attract people from all walks of life in Tien Giang to participate. A typical  example is the household of Mr. Cao Xuan Phong, in Tan Tien A hamlet, Tan My Chanh Commune, My Tho City, Tien Giang Province.

Perceiving the role of the power sector in public communication, raising the awareness of each customer, people in the economical and efficient use of energy, Tien Giang Power Company held many public interactive programs such as: "Village of Culture - Power Saving Living Quarter", contest in voting for Enterprises with optimum solutions for energy saving "," Support the dragon fruit farmers to replace incandescent bulbs with energy-saving light", "Power Saving Day", training in skills of power saving for the women's union and other mass organizations, encouraging the people to turn to power-saving products.

These models have helped people change habits of using electricity, as well as know how to make use of natural energy resources in order to reduce the use of limited natural resources, thus to contribute to the saving for the family, and in protection of the environment for the community as well.

In the future, the collaboration between the Department of Industry and Trade and the power industry and the mass organizations in the province and the electricity business will  be enhanced for more effectiveness of the power-saving programs.

As it is reported, during the first 4 months of this year, the  Tien Giang electricity sector has  saved more than 16 million kWh of electricity, reaching 2.45% of commercial electricity, creating a momentum for the completion of electricity saving target of 2.15% per this year as assigned by the Southern Power Corporation.
