The Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung has endorsed the recommendation for experimental lighting mode in the illumination system on Thang Long Highway, Nhat Tan - Noi Bai road and the extended road No. 5 as proposed by the city Department of Transport, both to ensure traffic lighting and power saving. The Department of Transport is requested to take responsibility for regular inspection, monitoring and evaluation to ensure traffic safety on these routes.

After the experimental lighting, a review is needed for evaluation of economic efficiency and the traffic safety on the road to report to the Metropolitan Authority.
The Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee also proposed the Ministry of Transport to rectify the experimental lighting for the Department of Transport to implement.
Earlier, the Hanoi Department of Transport had agreed to operate the experimental lighting mode in the illumination system on Thang Long Highway, from 18.15h to 21.00h with 70% of its lighting capacity, after 21.00h it operates at 30% capacity.
On Nhat Tan - Noi Bai Road (Vo Nguyen Giap road) from 18.15h to 23.00h it operates with 70% of capacity, and only 30% of capacity is turned on, after 23.00h.
On the extended road No. 5, from 18.15h to 23.00h it operates with 70% of capacity, and 30% after 23.00h.
The experimental lighting lasts one month (May 25-June 26).
