On July 7, Vietnam - France Energy Forum, having been prepared by the French Embassy in Vietnam, Business France, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, took place in Paris (France). The Forum is to provide a chance for the state officials as well as representatives of energy enterprises of the two sides to meet to share experiences in order to find opportunities to promote programs and projects in energy cooperation between Vietnam and France in the future.

In the Forum opening speech, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Cao Quoc Hung reviewed the development of the traditional relations between the two countries in recent years, particularly in the economic and trade fields. France now ranks the 17th among 101 countries and territories having direct investment into Vietnam. The investment from France is comparatively high and effective in Vietnam. The Deputy Minister expressed his confidence that France will remain the reliable partner with Vietnam in long-term cooperation in the energy sector .
Many speeches at the forum highlight the importance of developing the traditional Vietnamese-French relationships, particularly the economic partnership, including energy, because France is a country with advanced technology in this field.
