On August 5th, 2015 Vietnam Atomic Energy Association, Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute, held the 11th national conference on nuclear science and technology in Da Nang.

This conference has the objective to make exchange, presentation and announcement on the results of scientific research and applications of nuclear technology in Vietnam for the 2013-2015 period and sets out the objectives, and contents for deployment in the phase 2015-2017.

Among the participants, there are over 300 delegates, professors and scientists from countries such as Russia, Japan, and America.

The focus of the conference is taken out of the context that Vietnam is actively promoting applied science and technology for nuclear energy development, and implementing a project to build a nuclear power plant in Ninh Thuan province.

Mr. Tran Viet Thanh, Deputy Minister of Science - Technology, says: "In order to implement the strategy of atomic energy application successfully for peaceful purposes and nuclear power project in Ninh Thuan, the Party and State have issued guidelines and policies."

"Along with the constant learning and research, the workmen of atomic energy sector of Vietnamare are able for gradual engagement in the activities of Ninh Thuan nuclear power project, and they have made contribution in radiation and nuclear technology applications in various fields such as health, agriculture, and industry".

Accordingly, the conference has a separate science seminar to discuss the safety question with nuclear power-related factors such as those in science, technology, culture and the context of Vietnam. In addition, the conference also discusses technology, design and safety of nuclear power; site assessment for nuclear power plant, training and development of human resources.
