Starting August 17, 2015, Binh My Primary School 2, Binh My Commune, Cu Chi District, HCM City became the first school to use solar energy in the city.
Solar panels (40 pieces) were installed at the school, capable of providing about 30kWh of electricity per day to meet the essential energy demands for running the essential equipment of the school activities. The fund for installing solar batteries is estimated at VND 500 million, donated by Luxco, a Korean Corporation.

In addition, the school has also installed rainwater collection system, which helps replenish 15 cubic meters of water to schools every month.
The Board of Studies says that the application of this model is meant to raise the awareness of energy saving and water saving for the pupils in the school.
