On September 11th, at the headquarters of Electricity of Ho Chi Minh City, a Conference on Exchanging and Collecting Electric Foreign-Invested Enterprises Ideas was held by Electricity of Ho Chi Minh City (EVN HCMC) and Ho Chi Minh Industrial and Export Processing Zones Administration (HEPZA) to clear customers' queries and disseminate policies on energy savings.
In the framework of the conference, it also reported the performance of electricity provision in 2015 in Ho Chi Minh city and electric services of EVN HCMC in the last few years which are set to upgrade the quality of customer services.
Many activities have been implemented in order to encourage efficient use of energy towards green and clean environment such as energy efficiency emulation movements among households, vote for the best energy efficiency streets, instruction to use energy efficiently and economically, which has brought highly positive impact.
From 2012 to 2014, 1.44 billion kWh, equivalent to 809.222 tons of CO2 has been saved citywide. This statistics in industrial and export processing zones is 165.76 million kWh-equivalent to 95.51 tons of CO2. The total amount of saved energy in 2014 throughout the city was 475.75 million kWh, 128.12 million kWh from manufacturing area (28.71%). In August 2015, the figure is 301.05 million and 89.55 million kWh respectively. It is anticipated that 400 million kWh will be saved in 2015.
In the presentation at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thuy - Deputy Head of HEPZA stated that the success of the implementation of efficient use of energy citywide, especially in industrial and export processing zones is due to frequent propaganda, support and deployment of energy efficiency solutions. They also raise the awareness of people of using energy efficiently and economically in office sites and manufacturing areas.
Via the workshop, Mr. Thuy expected enterprises to cooperate in the implementation of policies on energy efficiency and economization, also join hands in "Ho Chi Minh Green Programme 2015" in particular and " National Energy Efficiency Programme" in general.
