Hoa Binh Approved its Provincial Program on Economical and Efficient use of Energy Phase 2016 - 2020

Hoa Binh province has promulgated the Decision No.1789/QD-UBND with approval of the program on Economical and Efficient use of Energy Phase 2016 - 2020.

Hoa Binh province has promulgated the Decision No. 1789/QD-UBND with approval of the program on Economical and Efficient use of Energy Phase 2016 - 2020. This is the focal content for implementation of the Green Growth Action Plan of Hoa Binh province in the Phase 2015 - 2020, promulgated by the Provincial People's Committee at the beginning of in 2015.

The program on Economical and Efficient use of Energy in Hoa Binh province Phase 2016 - 2020 is designed to enact the Law on Economical and Efficient use of Energy, the provisions of the relevant laws relating to energy saving and efficiency. The program is directed to raising the general awareness of organizations and individuals on energy savings to make changes, translating the knowledge into concrete actions to achieve the targets for total energy savings, to bring about socio-economic benefits, while contributing to environmental protection, rational exploitation of energy resources, and sustainable socio-economic development.

Specifically, the program identifies a number of key objectives: by 2020 to save from 5% - 8% of total energy consumption compared with current forecasts; to replace 10% - 12% of the old outdated transmission lines and equipment with new appliances to save energy in production and business units, agencies, and offices; to build some typical models of Economical and Efficient use of Energy; to re-organize gradually the traffic network, urban lighting appropriately to reduce the total energy consumption against the current forecast consumption.

The program identifies 10 thematic groups and 4 categories of key solutions. The total implementation cost is estimated at VND23,550 million, to be taken from the budget of the province (about VND7,650 million) and resources of enterprises and households participating in the program (about VND15,900 million).
