On October 13, 2015, Party Committee of Binh Thuan Province opened the 13th Party Committee’s General Meeting, term of 2015-2020. In addition to judgment on social-economic situation, delegates attending the Congress also appreciated the potential for renewable energy development and believed that Binh Thuan province would be a national energy center.

Besides thermoelectricity and hydroelectricity, with the advantage of 192-kilometer coast line, abundant wind resources and fairly favorable conditions of climate and land, Binh Thuan province is known as the leading region in the country in attracting investment in wind power projects. As calculated to 2014, Binh Thuan province has had 15 wind power projects, with the total capacity registered for investment of around 1,182MW. Owning clement weather and favorable terrain, Binh Thuan province seriously considered energy sector as one of the crucial factors in the strategy of socio-economic development of the province to 2020 and vision to 2030.

Additionally, the foundation of Binh Thuan Wind Power Association is one of the highly significant and meaningful activities in establishing the connection of cooperation on exploitation of wind power potential in Binh Thuan province in particular and in the country in general. The relations between Binh Thuan Wind Power Association and German Wind Energy Association, Chinese Wind Energy Association have been long-term strategic partnership relations in exploitation of wind power potential in this province.

Mr. Truong Hoa Binh, the Secretary of the Central Communist Party – Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam attended and steered the General Meeting. The delegates attending the meeting are representatives of Central ministries, departments and branches, and 349 delegates representing over 29,000 party members in the entire Party Committee.

Speaking at the Meeting, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh praised the achievements of the Party Committee and people of Binh Thuan Province in the past 5 years. Particularly, Binh Thuan province took proper and right direction, converted difficulties into comparative advantages and exploited more successfully its potentials and advantages.

The General Meeting closed on October 15, 2015. In the afternoon of October 13, 2015, an election the Executive Party Committee, Session XIII took place in the General Meeting.
