On December 3, in Phu Tho, the Electricity of Vietnam - Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) organized "Review Ceremony on Emulation Program of Power Saving Families in Phu Tho Province in 2015". This is the first prominent event in the series of pro-customer activities deployed by EVNNPC during the month of "Gratitude to customers - December 2015" which had been launched by Electricity of Vietnam.

Representatives of Phu Tho Power Company said that the deployment time for the "Emulation of power saving families in Phu Tho Province in 2015" was multiplied by twice compared with previous years, the program had a profound impact to the awareness of every citizen living in Phu Tho province, thus they changed their actions, contributing to reduction of electricity consumption, energy consumption, and pollution emissions, saving the cost for the people and for the country.

During 6 months of implementation, the program has achieved practical results: in 2015, with the participation of 36,552 households, saving power up to 1.64452 million kWh, an increase of 4 times as to compare with that in 2014. This partially confirms the success of the program. By the end of the emulation program, 800 households have won the title.

At the ceremony, the organizers conducted the commendation, handed over the rewards for the 50 typical households with outstanding achievements in the "Emulation of power saving families in Phu Tho Province in 2015", it motivated the households to response to power-saving movement in general, and power saving family Emulation in particular in the near future.

Mr. Ho Manh Tuan - Deputy Director General of EVNNPC said : "The Northern Electricity Corporation has deployed power saving families program across 27 provinces from April to October 2015. The participating families are expected to achieve the following criteria: save at least 10% of total power consumption compared with the same period in 2014 (April -October); use one of either 3 power-saving products INVESTER conditioner, solar fueled water heater, electricity-saving bulbs (LED, compact, T5, T8, ...).

Mr. Tuan also said: "The program is implemented syncronizedly and widely on the mass media: radio and television in the province, commune loudspeakers, local press ... in 27 provinces of Northern provinces under the management of EVNNPC, the program has attracted the participation of more than 600,000 households. The Award Ceremony for Typical power saving family will be held simultaneously in 27 northern provinces in December 2015. The total prize value is approximately VND3 billion.

The power saving families emulation program in 2015 has created a real change from awareness to action in the community, it built up a sense of economical and efficient use of energy for each member of the family, forming a lasting habit in electricity use and power savings, thereby contributing to reducing electricity consumption in order to meet the needs of life of people living in conditions of scanty power supply, so that more power could be spared for production and business, a contribution for socio-economic development of the province.

The power saving families emulation program in Phu Tho 2015 was officially launched on May 14, 2015. After 6 months of implementation, the program has attracted more than 36 thousand families living in 13 cities and districts of Phu Tho province to participate.

The participating households have committed to implement the economical and efficient use of energy to achieve the following criteria: Save 10% of power consumption compared to the same period of 2014 and sustain the same rate for 6 months, and they will win the title "Power SavingFamily", and they are awarded VND500,000.

Those households which perform the electricity savings specified by the criteria of Power Saving Family also use the energy-saving products in domestic use as solar water heater, efficient energy savings in lighting equipment and energy saving labeled electrical products would meet the criteria of Typical power savings family", and be awarded VND1,000,000 /household.
