The Seminar on "Current status, needs and orientation for management of database on economical and efficient use of energy in Building" has been organized by Science, Technology and Environment Department - MOC in the cooperation with United States Agency for International Development in Vietnam (Vietnam USAID) on January 7, 2016 in Hanoi.
This is one of the activities under the "Clean Energy Program (USAID Vietnam)" to promote the application of the National Technical Regulation "Buildings with energy efficiency" (QC09: 2013), to assist the Ministry of Construction in its implementation of the National Strategy for Green Growth through enhanced energy efficiency in the construction sector as well as the promotion of high performance green buildings.
The workshop was attended by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quang - Director of Information Center of Ministry of Construction, Mr. Nguyen Cong Thinh - Deputy Director for Science, Technology and Environment Department of the Ministry of Construction, Ms. Techi Majanen - representative of USAID Vietnam, and several other representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Department of Civil Engineering, Hanoi Energy Conservation Center and professional experts in the field of energy efficiency from the United States.
At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quang had a presentations to make an assessment over the current state of Information Technology application in the Ministry of Construction as well as at the local Department of Construction, at the same time he offered solutions for the development, implementation, with emphasis on financial solutions, human resources, technical infrastructure as well as measures for coordination with other agencies which are responsible for information technology in the country to conduct research, find out the model application, management and operation of information systems, online public services for application in the Ministry of Construction.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Cong Thinh says that the Ministry of Construction lays emphasis on the coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the provincial Departments of Construction and units specialized in energy efficiency in the supply, share of the necessary information for the required works.
Besides, the experts at the conference also highlighted the current status and the needs for management of a database on energy efficiency in construction projects in Hanoi, the database management software for energy efficiency in buildings from the United States (Sustainable Energy and Economic Development) and they put forward an assessment on the actual situation of managing a database on economical and efficient use of energy in some key energy consuming facilities in Vietnam.
