Signing Ceremony of The Gri Grant Agreement of The Sub-Project “Capacity Building in Research and Development of Integrated Control System in Coal Mining and Energy Industry” between “Fostering Innovation through Research, Science and Technology” Project Management Unit (FIRST) and Vietnam Research Institute of Electronics, Informatics and Automation (VIELINA) was officially held on January 15th.
Associate professor Tran Quoc Thang (Director of FIRST project) and Dr. Nguyen The Truyen (Director of VIELINA) signed the agreement with the presence of the leaders of departments under Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Industry and Trade.

“The project is one of the prerequisites to help VIELINA to develop into a significant research and development (R&D) center of the region, with the capacity to design and manufacture products of international standards and move towards sustainable development and self-sufficiency as indicated in Decree 115/2005/ND-CP”, said Mr. Tran Minh - Deputy Director General of Science and Technology Department at the signing ceremony.
Through the agreement, VIELINA will work on capacity building to master the design and manufacture integrated control system in coal mining and energy industry. Moreover, the agreement also provides VIELINA with highly qualified personnel.

The agreement has a total value of VND66 billion, equivalent to more than USD3 million. This is the second funded sub-project that FIRST has signed after the sub-project “Mastering Technologies for Rice Breeding and Seed Production of New Varieties with Outstanding Characteristics and High Economic Value, Contributing to the Autonomization of the Cuu Long Delta Rice Research Institute”.
