On January 15th, Can Tho Power Company (PC) held a conference to review their achievement after 5 years of cooperation with local unions as well as the result of “Power saving competition 2015.”
Last year, Can Tho PC worked with local organizations including Farmer’s Union, Women’s Union and Veterans’ Union to launch the “Power saving competition”. With the participation of 88,665 households, the emulation saved 17,809 KWh, equivalent to VND1.3 billion.

Outstanding individuals given certificates of merit by Chairman of Can Tho People’s Committee.
In the past 5 years (2011-2015), Can Tho PC has continuously promoted power efficiency and electrical safety in the city. It has also launched many power saving programs and encouraged unions, communities and utility companies to take part in. With its relentless effort, Can Tho PC has saved 176,516,832 KWh, equivalent to VND263.36 billion.
At the conference, an outstanding group and 5 excellent individuals was given certificates of merit by Chairman of Can Tho People’s Committee. Many others also received certificates of merit from Can Tho Industrial and Trade Department and Can Tho PC.
It can be seen that in Can Tho, power saving programs have been strongly implemented, attracting the attention of utility companies, departments, unions etc. This has created a positive effect on the community and contributed to gradually changing people’s habits of energy using.
