The Award Ceremony for the Contest "Energy Efficient Building in 2014" was held by the Ho Chi Minh City Energy Conservation Center in Hanoi in the morning of January 22, 2016. Attendants included Mr. Do Duc Quan, Deputy Director of General Department of Energy - Ministry of Industry and Trade; Mr. Nguyen Cong Thinh, Deputy Director for Science, Technology and Environment Ministry of Construction; Mr. Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Energy Conservation, General Department of Energy; Mr. Huynh Kim Tuoc, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Energy Conservation Center, and representatives from schools, institutes, centers and associations and buildings that had participated in the contest "Energy Efficient Building".
In the opening speech, Mr. Do Duc Quan, Deputy Director of General Department of Energy said that the first event of this contest had been held in early 2007, after 8 rounds, the contest attracted more than 400 entries in 25 various cities and provinces; and out ot the total entried number, 119 buildings won the prize.

In this category of rehabilitation, the First Prize belongs Continental Hotel in Ho. Ho Chi Minh City, the Second Prize is granted to Equatorial Hotel in Ho Chi Minh city. The Third Prize is handed over to Nha Trang Sunrise Hotel and Vietcombank Tower in Hanoi.
For the tropical buildings, the works of Saigon - Mui Ne Resort has been proven excellent to win the First Prize. The second runner-works is Mui Ne Bay Resort in Binh Thuan province.
In the category of new buildings and existing buildings, the First Prize is given to EVN Hanoi Building, the second prize to Aeon Shopping Center - Tan Phu Celadon in Ho Chi Minh city and the Third prize is awarded to two projects in Hanoi: Indochia Plaza and Candle Hotel.
It is reported that from 2007 up to the present, 11 buildings are granted with the top awards, out of the total number of 20 buildings participating in the prize competition in Southeast Asia.
