On Jan 22th, 2016 the Quang Ngai Power Company under the Central Power Corporation’s plan finally accomplished the project of supplying electricity to 100 households in An Binh Commune - known as Dao Be island of Ly Son district, Quang Ngai province after 17 days of construction. This is the last commune among 184 communes of Quang Ngai province to finally access to electricity.

The project is funded by the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) to build two diesel power generators with a capacity of 110 KVA each; a double circuit transmission line with 1,438 m in length and a capacity of 0.4kV, which goes along with the main roads; and 4 individual branch circuits with the total length of 1,460 m, which are located around the residential homes and local working farms.

In addition to installing 2 power generators, the power industry also invests in constructing a 2.4 km electric wire surrounding the island and 116 remote electric meters to fully connect 116 households of the island to the power grid. Furthermore, the Central Power Corporation has implemented a range of methods to distribute and store diesel fuel, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the residents, particularly during rain and hurricane seasons.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh, Chairman of People’s Committee of Ly Son Island district asserted the significant efforts of EVNCPC and the Quang Ngai Power Company in supplying electricity to the islanders in Ly Son. They have effectively cooperated with the local authorities to complete land acquisition processes and install the power poles so that the residents are able to access to electricity before the 2016 lunar new year. It is expected to boost the tourism industry in Dao Be Island thanks to all-day power supply.
