The Conference for dissemination of power-saving solutions for lighting the dragon fruit gardens was held by Binh Thuan Center for Industrial Promotion in Phan Thiet City on January 29, 2016. The purpose of this conference is to disseminate the solutions to save energy in orchard lighting technique by replacing incandescent bulbs with compact 20W bulbs or LED bulbs.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade; the Dragon Fruit Development Research Center of Binh Thuan; Binh Thuan Power Company; Dien Quang Bulb JSC , together with dozens of delegates representing the farmers' unions, youth unions, women's unionfrom districts, and communes where there are experienced dragon fruit growers, saying from Southern Ham Thuan Nam district and Northern Ham Thuan district.

At the conference, the Binh Thuan Power Company had a presentation on safety in orchard lighting, detailing the guidance on electrical safety when the dragon fruit trees are kept under the lighting, necessary first aid steps when people are electrocuted. Meanwhile, the representative of Dien Quang Bulb JSC had a presentation on some power-saving solutions, demonstrating some the results of research, analysis and application of materials and specialized equipment in fruit tree lighting. 

Also at this conference, the Dragon Fruit Tree Development and Research Center reported on their study of experimental models to replace incandescent light bulbs with compact 60 MW and 20 MW and a comparison between the use of two types of bulbs / lamps, the ratio of flowering resulted from the two types of bulbs for lighting is equivalent, however, the use of 20MW compact fluorescent light bulbs also brings about huge power saving.
