Shell-marathon Asia 2016 was held in Manila - capital of the Philippines in order to encourage energy saving initiatives in transportation. After 4 days, the contest ended on 6th March 2016, and LH - Gold Energy of Vietnam won the championship in urban base model.

This is the second time LH-Gold Energy from Lac Hong University has won the competition. With their outstanding results, they will represent Asia to compete in the world finale in London (UK). In addition to the championship of LH-Gold Energy, another team from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education also won the third prize.

This year’s competition is more difficult than the previous ones with some changes in the roads; however, after 5 leaps, Vietnamese team has successfully defended their championship. LH-Gold Energy’s vehicle traveled 185 km while consuming only 1 liter of biogasoline. Cikal Ethanol from Indonesia came in second place as their vehicle needed1 liter of biogasoline to travel 183 km.
