On 3rd March, Thua Thien - Hue People’s Committee and Banpu Limited Company - Thailand held signing ceremony of  Memorandum of Understanding for investment cooperation to build a thermal power plant in Hue.

The investor will expand phase 2 of the project, increasing capacity to 2,000 MW

In the memorandum, Banpu company asked for permission to carry out feasibility study and construct a thermal power plant with capacity of 1,200 MW. If possible, the investor will expand phase 2 of the project, increasing the capacity to 2,000 MW.

Signing of  Memorandum of Understanding 

The project will be the biggest plant in Central Highlands by the time it starts operating. 

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Cao - Chairman of Thua Thien Hue People’s Committee said the government would support Banpu company as much as possible. He also emphasized that in the near future, the two parties should strengthen their cooperation to implement the project more quickly.
