Earth Hour 2016 saw the lights go out on many streets and quarters of Quang Ninh Province from 20:30 to 21:30 on 19th March 2016. Before the event, the province’s Youth Union cooperated with Power company to hold Earth Hour 2016 kick-off ceremony at  Quang Ninh Cultural Friendship Palace with the presence of Mr. Dang Huy Hau - Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh People’s Committee and over 1,000 citizens.

Along with Quang Ninh, Hai Phong also celebrated Earth Hour 2016 with the message “Small actions - big impact”. Quarters, hotels, restaurants and households all turn off lights, billboards and unnecessary electrical equipment. They also limited energy consumption for 1 hour.

Meanwhile, Lao cai implemented ample activities in response to Earth Hour 2016. According to Lao Cai Power Company, the whole province saved 20,000 KWh due to the lights-off event which lasted for 1 hour, from 20:30 to 21:30.
