On June 21, 2016, the General Department of Energy, Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) organized a seminar "Awareness on energy efficient industrial boilers, adoption and operating practices"in Hanoi. This is one of the activities of the program to build resources to operate the boiler's energy efficiency project "Promoting the energy efficient industrial boilers, adoption and operating practicesin Vietnam".
The Workshop "Awareness on energy efficient industrial boilers, adoption and operating practices"
Among the attendants, there were Mr. Trinh Quoc Vu - Science, Technology and Energy Conservation Department; Mr. Riyaz Papaer, UNIDO International Consultant; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang, national expert from UNIDO, Head of Faculty of Energy Systems - Institute of Science and Technology of Refrigeration of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and other representatives of industrial enterprises from various provinces and cities of Vietnam like Hanoi, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, as well as energy-conservation centers in Bac Ninh, Ha Noi, ... and consultancy organizations operating in the domain of energy conservation and environment protection.
Trinh Quoc Vu, Chief Executive of Energy Conservation - Department of Science, Technology and Energy Efficiency- The General Department of Energy, Ministry of Industry and Trade
Addressing the seminar, Trinh Quoc Vu, Chief Executive of Energy Conservation - Department of Science, Technology and Energy Efficiency- The General Department of Energy, Ministry of Industry and Trade, said: "For industrial boilers, according to research by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the potential to improve the energy efficiency of industrial boilers in our country is about 10%. And according to the boiler manufacturing enterprises in the country, their potentiality for energy efficiency of the newly designed and manufactured boiler is around 2-6%, depending on the type of fuel and the size of the boiler."
Mr. Riyaz Papaer, UNIDO International Expert
"Along with a lot of energy saving solutions being deployed in the industrial enterprises within the framework of the national target program Phase 1, Phase 2, and in the near future, the use and operation of industrial boiler energy efficiency will be one of the solutions which helps to reduce energy intense consumption in the industries, such as rubber processing, food processing, pulp and paper milling, and textile ... ", Mr. Vu emphasized.
Participants in the workshop
Also at the seminar, representatives of project management introduced to delegates on capacity-building program on the energy-efficientoperation of the boiler as well as the benefits of participating businesses. As it is introduced, the project begins in November 2015 and ends in October 201, with total capital of over USD 12 million.
Participants also attended the presentation of Mr. Riyaz Papaer, UNIDO International Expert, who talked about the need for implementation of the program to optimize steam system, tools and materials, and how to improve the efficiency in the boiler operation.
It is known that in the near future, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will work with international organizations such as World Bank, Asian Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme UNDP, JICA (Japan), The Danish government to continue to realize the potential energy, as it is mentioned above.
