The Ministry of Industry and Trade requests government agencies to coordinate in organizing Earth Hour 2024

The lights-off event in response to the Earth Hour campaign in 2024 will take place from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, Saturday, March 23, 2024.

On February 26, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) sent an official document to the People's Committees of provinces and cities under the central government and the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) regarding the coordination of activities in response to the Earth Hour campaign in 2024
The lights-off event in response to the Earth Hour campaign in 2024 will take place from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, Saturday, March 23, 2024.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities under the central government to organize communication activities in response to Earth Hour taking place in March, aiming to attract the attention of a wide range of organizations, agencies, and people at the local areas to participate in the campaign. Activities in response to Earth Hour should be integrated with the local electricity-saving programs based on Directive No. 20/CT-TTg by the Prime Minister on enhancing electricity saving for the period 2023-2025 and subsequent years (Directive No. 20); Encouraging organizations, agencies, and individuals to turn off lights and unnecessary devices during the event in response to Earth Hour.
MOIT has requested the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) to direct its branches in provinces and cities to respond to the Earth Hour 2024 campaign by coordinating publicity at transaction points and headquarters of the units; to carry out activities in response to Earth Hour in combination with fulfilling the tasks assigned in Directive No. 20. At the same time, encouraging organizations, agencies, and customers to turn off unnecessary electrical devices during the event. Units under EVN are responsible for ensuring the safety of the power grid during the event. MOIT hopes to receive support and coordination from the People's Committees of provinces and cities, and the EVN for the successful and practical organization of the Earth Hour 2024 campaign. This effort aims to make a positive contribution to raising public and societal awareness about energy saving and environmental protection, as well as responding to climate change.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has developed a media identity for the Earth Hour 2024 campaign with the message "TIẾT KIỆM ĐIỆN - THÀNH THÓI QUEN (SAVE ELECTRICITY – MAKE IT A HABIT)." The message conveyed to the community is not just about saving electricity, conserving energy, and protecting the environment for one hour, but that every individual, community, and business should practice it regularly throughout the 365 days of the year, making electricity and energy saving a habit.
