Vnsteel Thang Long Coated Steel Joint Stock Company is one of the key energy users in Hanoi. The company strictly complies with energy use regulations to achieve the goal of efficient energy use. The company has established an energy management board and appointed a dedicated energy management officer to promote and monitor energy-saving measures. It conducts energy audits every three years, develops annual and five-year plans, and commits to action plans for implementing energy-saving activities and reducing energy costs.

A company representative stated that over the years, the company has consistently focused on policies to research and apply scientific and technological solutions for sustainable, environmentally friendly development. The company also emphasizes the creation of training and educational plans for all employees on energy-saving and efficiency. Additionally, it conducts monthly maintenance after production to extend equipment life and promptly detect malfunctions to avoid losses.

The company focuses on necessary lighting points, adjusts lighting times according to seasonal changes, and maximizes the use of natural light. Furthermore, the company implements solutions such as rationalizing the production lines, avoiding underutilizing equipment, reducing the use of high-power equipment during peak hours (such as refrigeration systems, compressed air systems, and air conditioners), and maximizing equipment use during off-peak hours. The company has continually invested in technology improvements, including installing capacitors at transformer stations to increase cosφ efficiency, installing inverters for large motors (including air compressors, crane systems, fans, and air knives on the coating line), installing condensate recovery systems for boilers, air preheaters, and insulating steam pipelines to prevent heat loss to the environment.

With these solutions in place, Vnsteel Thang Long Coated Steel Joint Stock Company achieved total energy savings of 469,806 kWh, equivalent to a 16.2% energy-saving rate.

In 2023, Vnsteel Thang Long Coated Steel Joint Stock Company was awarded the Green Energy User Certification with a 4-star rating for key energy users in industrial production by the Hanoi People's Committee.
