According to Tien Giang Department of Industry and Trade, the operation of the two lamp posts which use both wind and solar energy in Rach Mieu bridge and Hung Vuong bridge has been very good for the past four months. These lamps are working well and the energy they use is totally from natural and renewable sources.
The two lamp posts have been sponsored by Kim Dinh International Group JSC since December 2009.

Wind-and-solar lamps in
Mr Dang Thanh Liem, the Director of Department of Industry and Trade, said that the lamps would automatically turn on when it gets dark with the brightness equivalent to current public lamps. The life cycle of each lamp is up to 50,000 hours. The maintenance and replacement cost are zero for 10 years. It also reduces the CO2 emission by 313kg/lamp/year.
