According to Mr. Phuoc, Tien Giang Province has also started to implement another project of using energy saving lamps for offshore fishing vessels to reduce costs while improving profits for fishermen. So far Kim Dinh Corporation has provided all LED lamp sets for two fishing vessels, owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Hon and Mr. Nguyen van Cuong at Ward 9, My Tho City.

At the moment each ship uses 104 bulbs with capacity of 400W and 100W, requiring two power generators with capacity of 60kW. Under the project, all of old lamps will be replaced with LED light bulbs (54 bulbs per vessel). After that the vessel will only need a 10kW power generator, i.e. saving as much as 80% of fuel for operating the generator.
