Cameroon and Korea are currently considering to craft a strategy to develop renewable energy in the country. The move has culminated in prospecting tours led by experts from Korean firm, Dohwa Engineering, the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and representatives of the Cameroonian government.

Several exploration missions have been conducted in the Central, East, Littoral, West and Southwest regions of Cameroon to help identify sites with potentials for construction projects for hydroelectric mini-power plants, the development of solar, wind and biomass energy.
The commissioning of these infrastructures will improve the country’s energy supply, especially since less than 2 percent of its renewable energy potentials are currently exploited, the Koreans said.
The Ministry of Water and Energy described it as an opportunity to transform the country’s energy potential into real wealth.
