Almost 300 companies in Romania received funds worth EUR 112 million for energy efficiency in the last three years, through a European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Union financing program RoSEFF. The total value of projects managed by Romanian firms is EUR 156 million.

These projects brought annual energy savings and a 1,786 GWh drop in carbon dioxide emissions (CO2), equivalent to Bucharest households’ electricity consumption in a year, or 394,000 tons of CO2, the equivalent of taking 123,690 passenger cars off the roads for a year, according to the EBRD.
The program launched in 2011 and offers European funds to support the investments in energy efficiency via banks.
