Thanks to these results, the Hanoi Daeha Business Center had the honor to take the lead among buildings taking part in the 2012 energy management in industry and buildings contest organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

In a building, the air conditioning and lighting systems, office equipment, lifts and other facilities such as water pumps and ventilators consume large amounts of energy. To make the operations of multi-storey buildings more effective, it is necessary to ensure that they are energy efficient. Aware of this, the Hanoi Daeha Business Center has taken a number of measures to ensure effective energy management.

Specifically, the center has installed three-layer insulating glass for the entire building and inverters for the engines of facilities such as cold water pumps and lifts. The center has also replaced its lighting system with a new one consisting of power-saving lamps such as T5-28W, compact 13W and LED. In addition, a dimmer system has been installed to regulate the lighting intensity. A timer system is also used to fix the operation time of lamps in different parts of the building. The center has a specialized team of workers responsible for maintaining equipment and installing insulated pipes for the entire air conditioning system.

One of the most effective measures which the center has taken to ensure energy efficiency is using the Building Management System (BMS) to manage and supervise the operation of the air conditioning system. The BMS allows the center to effectively manage complicated electromechanical systems in the building, improving the effectiveness of energy use and minimizing the cost of operation and management. Thanks to this measure, the air conditioning system works well in all parts of the building while at the same time saving a considerable amount of electricity.

A representative of the center said the BMS allowed it to save 125,687kWh of electricity each year.

Green, energy efficient buildings are the goal of modern construction. Hanoi Daeha Business Center Director Dao Hong Thai said energy efficiency in buildings not only contributed to helping businesses reduce expenses but also matched development goals of the whole country - sustainable growth, sufficient energy supplies and environmental protection. Therefore, businesses are becoming more active in applying energy conservation technologies to construction projects. This will be indispensable to create a generation of green and environmentally friendly architectural works.
