DECC has contracted Jacobs Engineering Group to provide technical advisory services for carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects.
It will help support the delivery of the UK’s CCS Commercialisation Programme – which has £1 billion of capital funding available to support the design, construction and operation of the projects.
The scheme aims to help tackle climate change.

Company officials did not disclose the contract value but noted the two-year contract is being delivered from its London operations.
Jacobs will assess the agreed products for the Peterhead Project in Aberdeenshire and the White Rose Project in Yorkshire.
