23/04/2025

On the morning of April 22, 2025, within the framework of the project "Vietnam Scaling Up Energy Efficiency" (VSUEE), the training program "Promoting Energy Efficiency for Business Leaders in the Fisheries Sector" was held in Ho Chi Minh City.

Following the series of trainings aimed at promoting energy efficiency among business leaders, this session was specifically organized for executives from the fisheries sector.

Mr. Le Thanh Nhieng, Director of the Southern Office of Bach Khoa Energy Conservation Joint Stock Company introduced the program.
The main training content includes: (i) Enhancing capacity to identify and develop energy efficiency and conservation projects; (ii) Energy auditing and financial analysis for energy efficiency projects; (iii) Introduction and application of measurement, reporting, and verification systems; (iv) Marketing and business strategies for enterprises.
The training program is part of Component 2: Technical Assistance of the VSUEE Project. This technical assistance component aims to build capacity among project participants, develop and refine policy frameworks, implementation guidelines, and support energy-saving activities that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address climate change.
The instructors include lecturers from technical universities, energy efficiency experts from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and EE experts from both domestic and international projects. The training session on April 22, 2025, was attended by leaders and executives from industrial enterprises in the seafood sector.
Under this training initiative, six more industry-specific programs will be organized, each tailored to be practical and applicable to its respective sector. These sectors include: Textiles and Garments; Pulp and Paper; Bricks and Ceramics; Iron and Steel; Cement; and Plastics.
The trainees were leaders of enterprises in the fisheries sector.
Through this training, the project aims to raise awareness among industrial enterprise leaders that energy efficiency is not just a legal obligation but also a profitable investment opportunity that enhances competitiveness. Equipped with technical and financial knowledge related to energy-saving projects, business leaders can make quicker and more effective decisions, enabling them to select appropriate and feasible technology solutions for their companies.
Moreover, understanding the available support mechanisms, credit guarantees, and financial incentives allows leaders to proactively access green finance sources and better convince financial institutions or investors. Their active participation also fosters a cultural shift within the organization, integrating energy-saving practices into the company's sustainable development strategy. Competent leadership also ensures better coordination with internal departments and external partners such as technical consultants, banks, or solution providers. This enables the comprehensive and efficient implementation of energy efficiency projects.
